Brighten & Restore your skin while you sleep!
As a skincare expert I understand the importance of using the correct skincare products for the correct time of day depending on the mode your skin is in at the time. Using the correct products will help improve the health of your skin and keep your skin calm, hydrated and youthful.
Introducing the NEW Biolumin-c night restore serum that restores skins radiance, hydration and tone overnight while you sleep. During clinical trials 100% showed lasting brightness, immediate hydration, more radiance and more energised skin by the morning.
This is the first product to combine ultra stable Vitamin C and Pro Vitamin D complex in one fantastic formula. This active combination fights future oxidative stress causing signs of damage and accelerated ageing.
Firstly let's understand the skin's behaviour
AM vs PM
Our skin is our largest organ and has its own 24 hour circadian rhythm and functions differently depending on the time of day.
Daytime
During the daylight hours our skin is in Protect Mode - Fighting against environmental aggressors such as UV rays and pollution. Overtime the DNA repair reduces and the skin is prone to accelerated ageing.
Night time
After sundown and during the night our skin goes into Repair Mode - Our skin transitions into repairing and regenerating cells increases, resulting in a rapid increase of skin cells and DNA repair. This increase in cellar activity causes water loss at night leaving skin vulnerable to dehydration.
With all of this in mind it is very important to use the correct formulas at the correct time of the day for your skin’s activity.
Vitamin-c
The powerhouse of antioxidants by neutralising the reactive molecules and inhibiting them. These molecules are the triggers to THREE main accelerated ageing processes on our skin.
-
ROS - Reactive Oxygen Species - Damages the proteins and lipids in our skin leading to water loss, dullness, lack of tone and lines and wrinkles.
-
MMP- Matrixx Metalloproteinases - breaks down our collagen level in our skin which is the scaffolding and structure to our skin leading to skin sagging, wrinkles and weakness.
- AGE - Advanced Glycation End-products - weakens our collagen fibres again this is breaking down our scaffolding of our skin leading to loss of tone and firmness to our skin.
Pro Vitamin-D
Vitamin-D helps our cellular replication cycle, our DNA repairing, which in turns helps prevent premature ageing. It also stimulates antioxidant defences to fight harmful free radicals that accelerate signs of ageing. Vitamin-D also promotes collagen production, which gives shape and strength to skin cells.
The biolumin-c night restore serum also includes precursors to Vitamin-D providing the skin with the building blocks to support with calcium uptake which is very important for barrier function and skin defence.

How to use
Step one - Double Cleanse
Before bed preform your dermalogica double cleansing routine, start by applying Precleanse or Micellar Prebiotic Precleanse to dry skin and over your makeup. Dampen your hands with water and emulsify the precleanse by massaging water into the product. Rinse off the cleanser by using warm water and sponges. Then repeat this process with your second prescribed cleanser. I highly recommend Daily Gycolic Cleanser for dehydrated/dull skin, Skin Resurfacing Cleanser for ageing skin and Ultracalming Cleanser for dry/sensitive skin.
Step Two - Tone
Spritz your skin with your prescribed toner, and pat into the skin. I highly recommend Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist for dehydrated skin or Antioxidant Hydramist for ageing/dry skin.
Step Three - Night Serum
Apply 3 drops of biolumin-c night restore serum to your face and neck, massage in.
Step Four - Moisturise
Apply your prescribed night moisturiser. I highly recommend Sound Sleep Cocoon for dehydrated skin or Super Rich Repair for ageing/ dry skin.
